About The Position

The Kindergarten Teacher will engage students in learning, manage student behavior positively and proactively, and prepare students to become productive responsible citizens. This role involves creating a flexible learning environment, establishing rapport with students, and motivating them to develop essential skills and knowledge for future education. The teacher will also build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, supervise students, develop and deliver lesson plans, and provide necessary accommodations for diverse learners, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, or Health Care Plans. Collaboration with colleagues and responsiveness to inquiries from parents and guardians are key aspects of this position. The teacher will foster a culture that empowers students and promotes inclusivity and support for all children.

Requirements

  • Indiana License to teach in appropriate grade/subject

Responsibilities

  • Engage students in learning

  • Establish effective rapport with students, seek to meet individual student needs
  • Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continuing education
  • Establish positive relationships with students, parents and other staff members
  • Supervise students within assigned areas and as needed
  • Develop Lesson plans
  • Deliver group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines
  • Provide diverse learners with accommodations and modifications to ensure learning
  • At a minimum provide the legally required modifications and accommodations as outlined in each child’s IEP, 504 plan, Health Care Plan or other legally mandated document
  • Collaborate with other teachers, administrators to address instructional and/or classroom issues
  • Respond to a wide range of inquiries from students, parents, and guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress
  • Create and support a culture that empowers students
  • Encourage a culture of inclusiveness and support for all children
