About The Position

Lenawee Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to provide foundational academic instruction while nurturing the spiritual, social, and emotional development of young learners. This role is responsible for delivering developmentally appropriate instruction in core subject areas while fostering a love for learning, building early academic skills, and supporting each child’s growth in a safe, structured, and Christ-centered environment. The Kindergarten Teacher plays a critical role in establishing the educational foundation for students and partnering with families to support student success.

Requirements

  • Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Exhibit a consistent Christian testimony and adherence to biblical principles in personal and professional life.
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, humility, and a strong commitment to excellence and servant leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field required.
  • Valid state teaching certification required.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and instructional practices.
  • Ability to create engaging, structured, and nurturing learning environments.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with students and parents.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience in early childhood or elementary education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction across core subject areas, including language arts, math, science, and social studies.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with school curriculum, state standards, and ACSI expectations.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on learning, small group instruction, and interactive activities.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and developmental levels.
  • Foster a love for learning through creative, engaging, and age-appropriate activities.
  • Support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of each student.
  • Establish a nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged.
  • Promote positive behavior, independence, and foundational life skills.
  • Maintain a structured, organized, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Establish clear expectations for behavior, routines, and transitions.
  • Reinforce school policies and student conduct standards consistently.
  • Assess student progress through observation, formative assessments, and evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, growth, and needs.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school communication processes.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Support school initiatives, programs, and extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Maintain professional standards aligned with ACSI and state accreditation requirements.
  • Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and expectations outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Integrate Biblical principles into instruction and daily classroom interactions.
  • Model Christ-centered character, leadership, and servant-heartedness.
  • Support the spiritual development of students through teaching, encouragement, and example.
