About The Position

The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for providing an environment that enables each child to reach their fullest physical, emotional, educational, psychological, and behavioral potential. This role involves planning and delivering instruction, managing the classroom, and engaging in professional development and communication with parents.

Requirements

  • Appropriate certification and highly qualified requirements.
  • Documentation of a negative Mantoux skin test or other tuberculosis-screening test recommended by the US Centers for Disease Control administered within 12 months before the starting date of employment.
  • A Food Handler’s Card authorized through the Arizona Department of Health prior to the starting date of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an environment that enables each child to reach their fullest physical, emotional, educational, psychological, and behavioral potential.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in subject area and curriculum development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, promoting mutual respect and positive self-concepts.
  • Maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Submit weekly lesson plans reflecting goals, objectives, and activities.
  • Assess student skill levels and plan instruction accordingly.
  • Organize resources such as time, space, materials, and equipment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using specific procedures.
  • Provide instruction at student's skill level and to learning objectives.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and methods.
  • Model correct performance for students and give clear directions.
  • Monitor student learning and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Use effective classroom management techniques and communicate behavior expectations.
  • Manage inappropriate classroom behavior by implementing discipline procedures.
  • Act in a professional manner and engage in professional development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, including conferences.
  • Supervise and evaluate support staff and/or volunteers when applicable.
  • Maintain appropriate and adequate information according to federal law, state law, district policy, and school procedures.
