About The Position

This is a temporary Kindergarten Instructional Assistant position at Hoosier Road Elementary School. The role requires assisting the classroom teacher with various duties to support student learning and classroom management.

Requirements

An associate of arts degree, OR
Two years of college (48 credit hours), OR
Pass the ParaPro exam (state assessment test for knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and math).

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with students and other staff members.
Proficiently aid the teacher in the performance of clerical duties.
Work well with staff and students.
Aid the teacher in preparing the classroom for school.
Help prepare and distribute lesson materials.
Instruct students under teacher supervision.
Keep the classroom neat and orderly.
Aid the teacher in arranging bulletin boards.
Supervise cafeteria, playground, etc., under teacher supervision.
Assist with all clerical duties, including student records and copying.
Aid in preparing the classroom for the close of school.
Maintain effective communication with the teacher.
Work with groups of students inside and/or outside the classroom.
Assess abilities and assist with the collection of academic/behavioral data of students.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the building principal.
Nurture a positive relationship with super-ordinates, subordinates, and peers.
Demonstrate respect for super-ordinates, subordinates, and peers.
Support corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives.
Work as a team player.
Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
