About The Position
This position is for a Kindergarten Educational Assistant at Dennis Chavez Elementary for the 2026/2027 School Year ONLY. The role requires a Level III Educational Assistants License and functional knowledge of job-related duties. The assistant must be free from physical limitations that would interfere with lifting duties (students, equipment, etc.) and able to perform physical duties associated with delivering services to special education students. A New Mexico driver's license is required, along with the ability to perform essential functions and task requirements noted on the job description.
Requirements
- Level III Educational Assistants License required
- Functional knowledge of job related duties
- Free from physical limitations, which would interfere with any required lifting duties(students, equipment, etc.)
- Able to perform physical duties associated with delivering services to special education students
- Possess a New Mexico driver’s license
- Ability to perform essential functions and task requirements noted on the job description
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Sign Language
- Current CPR certification
- CPI System or De-escalation certification
- Experience with severely involved students
- Experience with behavioral disorders
