About The Position

The Ann Arbor Open K-8 School District is seeking a Kindergarten Classroom Teacher for the Ann Arbor Open at Mack location. This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) requiring regular, reliable, and predictable attendance on site. The teacher will be responsible for teaching the district-approved curriculum, developing lessons and instructional materials, providing individualized and small group instruction, communicating with parents, and evaluating student growth. The role also includes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate.
• Possess work experience with early elementary children.
• Must submit evidence at time of interview of highly qualified status as defined through NCLB.
• Proof of COVID vaccination required.

Responsibilities

• Teach district approved curriculum.
• Develop lessons and instructional material to provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt to the curriculum needs of each pupil.
• Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Evaluate academic and social growth of students, keep appropriate records and prepare progress report.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
