About The Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate kinder teacher to join our high-energy team! The Mother’s Day Out (MDO) Teacher will work under the direction of the MDO coordinator to lead, grow, and direct MDO for kindergarten students. Hours This part-time position will be scheduled for approximately 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday. The MDO schedule aligns with the MISD school year and is not offered during the summer months.

Requirements

  • Profess Jesus Christ as Savior and lead by His example in word and deed with biblical teaching
  • Attend one regular church service a week.
  • Must possess a current Texas Educator’s Certificate.
  • Have current CPR and first aid training, and/or be willing to get certified at the time of hire.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and pass a background check administered by the church.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Experience developing kindergarten and primary-level curriculum is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop kindergarten-level curriculum and lesson plans to stimulate development and social skills within a Christian environment.
  • Encourage social interaction, promoting communication skills, teamwork, and positive peer relationships.
  • Teach students to follow rules and procedures in the classroom and school.
  • Plan various indoor and outdoor activities that foster children's creativity, exploration, and social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Facilitate and engage children in age-appropriate activities, such as games, stories, crafts, paintings, drawings, handwork, songs, prayers, and physical activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students and parents.
  • Provide and maintain a Christian environment where children may grow physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
  • Honor, serve, and show respect to our families, their children, and members of the childcare team.
  • Attend MDO staff/training meetings as required.
  • Maintain required health/safety training credentials.
