About The Position

Kinder Camp is a pre-kindergarten exploration day camp where children between the ages of 3.5-5 years old often have their first camp experience. Children will participate in a variety of activities such as swimming, crafts, field trips, and group play. Working under the guidance of the camp manager, you will have the opportunity to impact the lives of children by providing a safe and nurturing environment that encourages their social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Kinder Camp Interns are responsible for assisting the staff in leading high-quality fun and educational programs for small groups of 10-14 children, in addition to group activities with the other counselors and entire camp of up to 40 children. Interns will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the camp staff and work on professional and leadership development. Kinder Camp Interns must ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times by meeting the physical demands of the position. We seek patient, cheerful, energetic, responsible staff who enjoy working with children and have demonstrated strong interest in a variety of activities. Requirements

  • Intern applicants must be at least 15 years old by the start of the camp session they intend to work.
  • Education classes or experience in babysitting, youth programs, recreation, working with children preferred.
  • Experience or interest in visual art, music, dance, or drama.
  • Interest in working in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field.
  • Unlimited positive energy and ability to build and or work as a cohesive team.
  • Desire and ability to work in a camp setting.
  • Good role model, high integrity, and adaptable.
  • Available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am-4 pm.
  • Availability to work at least two complete camp sessions (Monday-Friday, June 15 - August 7, 2026) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastic participation with the campers in all camp activities.
  • Assist in overseeing a variety of activities. Activities may include crafts, nature, songs, games, opening and closing routine, swimming, before and after care, etc. This includes time spent on the bus.
  • Assist with the preparation, set-up and clean-up of activities.
  • Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
  • Serve as a role model for campers through your attitude and behavior.
  • Maintain health, safety, cleanliness in program areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
