About The Position

The Kinder Camp Instructor is responsible for teaching and supervising assigned students, ages 4-5, with appropriate learning experiences designed to prepare them for kindergarten by promoting the learning of language, communication, social-emotional, and cognitive and creative development. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, activities related to classroom quality and compliance with assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in early childhood, family studies, education, or other related field from accredited college or university required.
  • CPR certification required or the ability to obtain prior to starting.
  • Experience teaching pre-school or school age youth in an educational setting required.
  • Knowledge of word processing software and e-mail required.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Texas Teaching Credential preferred.
  • Experience with implementing Frog Street Curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students ages 4-5 with a focus on kinder readiness skills.
  • Supervise students in a class setting.
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate student outcomes.
  • Communicate and interact with parents regarding their child’s progress.
  • Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices according to the Camp Good Sam Jr./Kinder Camp program model.
  • Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Attend recruitment meetings with Director of Early Childhood Education when available.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood Education
