About The Position

The Kinder Camp Instructor is responsible for teaching and supervising assigned students, ages 4-5, with appropriate learning experiences designed to prepare them for kindergarten by promoting the learning of language, communication, social-emotional, and cognitive and creative development. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, activities related to classroom quality and compliance with assessments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in early childhood, family studies, education, or other related field from accredited college or university required.
CPR certification required or the ability to obtain prior to starting.
Experience teaching pre-school or school age youth in an educational setting required.
Knowledge of word processing software and e-mail required.

Nice To Haves

Valid Texas Teaching Credential preferred.
Experience with implementing Frog Street Curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students ages 4-5 with a focus on kinder readiness skills.
Supervise students in a class setting.
Assess, monitor, and evaluate student outcomes.
Communicate and interact with parents regarding their child’s progress.
Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices according to the Camp Good Sam Jr./Kinder Camp program model.
Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
Attend recruitment meetings with Director of Early Childhood Education when available.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood Education
