About The Position

You will be responsible for the full operation of the burning department including dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems. This role involves operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repair, quality checks, and shift and daily reports. The position operates on a rotating night shift from 6pm to 6am.

Requirements

Must work in a safe manner.
Obey safety signs and warnings.
Ability to learn the full operation of the burning department and DLA.
Ability to learn the full operation of the automatic transfer cars.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to do daily reports.
Ability to obtain forklift license.
Knowledge and ability to use hand tools to adjust, repair, and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
Hardhat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes required.
Ability and willingness to help throughout the Plant where needed.

Nice To Haves

Must be able to lift 20 lbs. occasionally.
Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
Must be able to climb ladders, steps and work in high places.
Must be able to work in hot conditions.

Responsibilities

Full operation of the burning department including dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems.
Operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Conduct quality checks.
Complete shift and daily reports.
Monitor kilns and make adjustments as needed.
Perform daily checks on equipment and repair or report to supervisor as needed.
Learn the full operation of the automatic transfer cars.
Participate in department housekeeping and meet standards.
Fill in for other department employees when needed.
Perform daily brick quality tests.
Repair and rebuild kiln cars.
Change fan belts and sheaves.
Troubleshoot issues related to kiln operations and/or assist.
Perform minor maintenance tasks in other departments as asked.
Train new employees.
