The Kiln/Boiler Superintendent is responsible for directing the operation of the power plant to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant operations. This role oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility systems infrastructure and functions as the project manager for all drying-related and energy projects. The superintendent must maintain a safe and clean working environment, supervise the daily operation of the generating unit or plant, and ensure employees are held accountable for working safely and productively. A key aspect of this role is monitoring and ensuring strict enforcement of local, state, and federal environmental compliance regulations. The superintendent will also perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, direct on-the-job training, ensure generation expectations are met through collaboration with trading and load dispatching groups, and build cooperative working relationships with other departments. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing thermal efficiency improvement initiatives, monitoring and controlling plant operating costs, coordinating priorities for critical maintenance, developing and updating plant operating procedures, and maximizing generation while maintaining efficient operation of all plant processes.
