About The Position

At KidStrong, we help parents build stronger, smarter, more athletic kids. KidStrong is a milestone accelerator for kids walking through 11 years old, helping them discover their superpowers and build future-ready kids who are confident in social, physical, and academic settings. KidStrong Gilbert is rapidly growing and is seeking a talented, enthusiastic Childrens Coach who is passionate, energetic, and excited to engage with parents and kids to make a positive impact on their lives.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable
  • Athletic or coaching experience
  • Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding “the why” behind the KidStrong curriculum
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics
  • CPR certified
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who just gets a job done
  • Enjoys the spotlight
  • Ability to work in a physically intensive environment, covering multiple miles in a shift, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight
  • Comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety
  • Ability to obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coaching kids ages 12 months to 11 years old
  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT

Responsibilities

  • Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, with age groups ranging from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at the beginning of class
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
  • Effectively use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
  • Complete training through FranConnect as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Work in a physically intensive environment, covering multiple miles in a shift and lifting/moving equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Work "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and student safety
  • Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of a class
  • Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next month's curriculum
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the KidStrong Director
  • Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Academy - special classes held by centers when local schools are not operating (for example Winter Break, Summer Break)
  • Obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team
