About The Position

Works with staff and volunteers to create age-appropriate environments and experiences for children to discover God, His Story and their place in it, with a focus on Birth through Pre-K. Shepherds and equips volunteers and looks for opportunities to encourage parents as the primary disciple-makers in their homes. In all things, carries out the mission, vision, and values of Southeast Christian Church. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with organizing and leading volunteers.
  • Must live in Oldham County or be willing to relocate within one year.
  • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one.

  • Leads by example fulfilling the staff expectations of groups, inviting, serving, worship and giving.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, processes, trains, and shepherds volunteer leaders to minister to children and families.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of volunteers using Planning Center.
  • Ensure current policies and best practices are adhered to within the ministry area to ensure safety and excellence.
  • Prepares and implements weekly curriculum for small group environments.
  • Setup and prep all classrooms for weekend services in partnership with Support Assistant and volunteers.
  • Coordinates with Operations team regarding which classrooms will be open or closed for each worship service.
  • Plan and execute events for children and volunteers, including family dedication and promotion weekend.
  • Communicates frequently and effectively with volunteers and parents, including pastoral care, prayer, and encouragement.
  • Performs administrative tasks.
