About The Position

The Kids Instructor provides educational and fitness-minded programming for children ages three months to 11 years in the Kids Academy. The instructor organizes and leads safe, fun, and entertaining activities and games, and may also host parties and other events. The role involves preparing for classes, transferring children to and from programming, maintaining attendance and development records, and monitoring children to help ensure a safe and healthy environment. Instructors communicate with parents and team members, promote Junior programming, and maintain program areas and supplies. They are also expected to respond calmly and professionally to incidents and emergencies.

Requirements

Less than a high school diploma or GED.
Complete all Kids On-Demand Required Learnings before the first day of work.
Obtain First Aid certification and Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification within the first 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of experience teaching children ages 3–11 in similar programs or activities.
Ability to engage a group of children in an activity.
Customer service skills and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Greet, acknowledge, and interact with members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development by leading organized activities according to the Kids Academy Schedule.
Prepare and set up for classes and transfer children to and from programming.
Maintain records of children's attendance, development, and incidents.
Monitor and interact with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment, including attention to toys, sports equipment, other children, and surroundings.
Use positive behavior management techniques and communicate clearly with parents and team members.
Promote Junior programming to increase participation in Kids & Aquatics programming.
Maintain the Kids Academy and other program areas by following the cleaning checklist and completing assigned tasks.
Restock supplies after each class.
Handle incidents and emergencies calmly and professionally.
Host parties and other events as needed.
