About The Position

Bethel Church is seeking a caring, dependable Preschool Lead Teacher to provide Christ-centered early childhood education in a safe, nurturing classroom environment. The Preschool Lead Teacher leads classroom instruction for preschool-aged children, creating a structured, engaging environment that supports social, emotional, physical, academic, and spiritual development. This role partners with families and preschool leadership to ensure a safe and developmentally appropriate learning experience.

Requirements

  • Pass a National Background Check and complete required training hours.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Dependable, organized, and able to lead a group of young children
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. and actively supervise children indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods
  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to spiritual growth
  • Active member and participant in a local Christian church community
  • Affirms and supports Bethel Church’s beliefs, mission, and values
  • Consistently reflects Christ-like character, humility, and grace in interactions with children, families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Models a team-oriented, collaborative spirit with strong personal responsibility and leadership.
  • Pastoral or church leadership reference required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in preschool, childcare, daycare, or early childhood education preferred
  • Basic computer and communication skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead preschool instruction using developmentally appropriate practices and approved curriculum
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Always supervise children to ensure safety and well-being
  • Use positive behavior support strategies to guide classroom behavior
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding activities, behavior, and student progress
  • Prepare and maintain required lesson plans, assessments, and student records
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
  • Report any concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues to the Preschool Director
  • Participate in required staff meetings, training, and preschool events
  • Follow Bethel Church policies, safety procedures, and Kids Express guidelines
