Shorewood Kids Corner Attendant
About The Position
Provide responsible supervision of infants, toddlers and school age children placed in your care while parents/guardians are elsewhere in the facility. Must be actively involved and attentive at all times. Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of children under your supervision. Requirements
- Must be at least age 16.
- High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
- Previous experience working with children.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Harassment training prior to first day of hire.
- Ability to work long hours with positive attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: child care.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
- Follows all procedures and standards.
- Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.
- Maintains a professional attitude in all circumstances.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Communicates with parents/guardians regarding children’s behavior or illness.
- Ensures that accident reports and reportable condition forms are filled out completely and submitted in a timely manner.
- Notify supervisor of any problems or issues that arise during shift.
- Assists with any other duties as assigned.
