About The Position

Seeking a YMCA Program Attendant to oversee special events and programs hosted by the Youth and Family Department. Programs include but are not limited to STEAM, Kids Night Out, birthday parties, special events, etc. Responsible for providing for the safety and security of all children and families under your supervision. Must be actively involved and attentive at all times. Duties associated with this position include but are not limited to, keeping families entertained and providing a safe and pleasant atmosphere for all participants. Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children preferred.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Must complete all required certifications before employment. Certifications/Training include (CPR/FA/EPI,Child Abuse Prevention, Preventing Workplace Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogen Training, Active Shooter).
  • Must complete New Staff Orientation within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safety and security of all children/families under your supervision.
  • Promote YMCA mission and must demonstrate YMCAs core values; care, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Responsible for set up, take down and clean up of program items/materials.
  • Adheres to program standards including safety, risk management and cleanliness standards.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
  • Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
