About The Position

The Kids Camp Counselor leads children ages three to twelve through activities including rock climbing, swimming, weekly field trips, arts and crafts, and gym games. The counselor incorporates nutrition education into weekly themed camps while providing children with a safe and enjoyable experience. The position also involves promoting monthly events and activities, maintaining camp cleanliness and order, and using supplies, snacks, and drinks within department budget limits.

Requirements

One year of camp experience.
Complete Life Time Summer Camp Counselor Certification before Camp Season.
Obtain First Aid certification within the first 60 days of hire.
Obtain Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification within the first 60 days of hire.
Ability to tolerate loud noises.
Ability to frequently stand and walk; use hands, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

Lead interactive activities such as arts and crafts, singing, sports, games, and field trips while maintaining a safe environment.
Lead a group of up to 10 campers ages 3–12 with a fun, positive, and outgoing attitude, serving as a role model.
Demonstrate courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism with internal and external customers.
Maintain the cleanliness and order of camp to help ensure safety.
Promote monthly events and activities to increase participation and revenue.
Ensure supplies, snacks, and drinks are used according to amounts prearranged by the department budget.
Incorporate nutrition education into weekly themed camps.
