About The Position

We are in need of a Kick Broom Equipment Operator for our VSS International, Inc job in South Lake Tahoe for a 2 week project during the summer months. This opportunity is contingent upon being awarded the project. The ideal candidate will be a safe, hardworking, team-oriented person who is ok with working outdoors on road construction crews.

Requirements

• Must have good communications skills both written and verbal to interact with internal and external drivers and customers.
• Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communications skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to company goals.
• Must be capable of functioning under fast paced stressful working conditions within live traffic
• Prior pavement preservation experience is required
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate a kick broom or broom tractor to sweep and clean roadway surfaces ahead of paving operations
• Remove dirt, debris, loose aggregate, and excess material to ensure proper asphalt bonding.
• Sweep in front of and behind the asphalt paver to maintain a clean, consistent paving surface.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required equipment or safety reports
• Assist with jobsite preparation, cleanup, and general paving crew duties as needed
