About The Position

Keystone SMILES AmeriCorps 26-27 is a service program that engages individuals in meeting community needs, particularly in the areas of Education, Public Safety, Environment, and Human Services. Members participate in service-learning projects, attend training, and serve as ambassadors in their communities. The program offers hands-on experience, educational awards, and opportunities for personal and professional development.

Requirements

Must be at least 17 years of age.
Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the U.S.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to commit to the full term of service.

Nice To Haves

Experience in mentoring or working with youth.
Experience in community outreach or event planning.
Interest in STEM education.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement service-learning projects for students at host sites or in communities
Attend monthly member meetings
Complete virtual training to amplify service abilities
Participate in National Service Days and planned events
Create a service portfolio and track and report service outcomes
Serve as an ambassador in your neighborhood and community
Participate in a virtual pre-service training prior to serving at assigned host site
Rotating through outreach program preparing and traveling with a team to provide meals and STEM programs to local communities in Mercer County.
