About The Position

Arlan's Market is seeking a dependable and motivated Third Key to join our store leadership team. This position is designed for someone who wants to take on greater responsibility, develop leadership skills, and grow within the company. The Third Key is not simply a position used to cover management days off. The expectation is to be a leader every day you are scheduled. You will work alongside the Store Manager and Assistant Managers to help lead employees, maintain store standards, support daily operations, and ensure customers receive the level of service expected at Arlan's Market. This position also serves as an opportunity to develop the skills and experience necessary for future advancement into Assistant Manager, Store Manager, and other leadership opportunities.

Requirements

  • Previous grocery, retail, customer service, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and management.
  • Ability to lead employees and hold others accountable to expectations.
  • Comfortable making decisions and handling responsibility.
  • Willingness to learn multiple areas of grocery store operations.
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by store operations.
  • Ability to perform the physical duties associated with grocery retail, including standing for extended periods, walking the store, stocking merchandise, and lifting as required.
  • Must meet company requirements for keyholder and management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead employees and help maintain productivity throughout the shift.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned.
  • Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Managers with daily store operations.
  • Help open and close the store and ensure proper opening/closing procedures are followed.
  • Conduct regular store walks and identify operational, merchandising, cleanliness, and safety concerns.
  • Ensure aisles, displays, endcaps, and departments remain conditioned, stocked, clean, and customer-ready.
  • Provide direction to employees and follow up to ensure assigned tasks are completed.
  • Assist with front-end operations, including customer concerns, register issues, overrides, cash pickups, and other authorized management functions.
  • Help enforce company policies, procedures, safety standards, and loss-prevention practices.
  • Respond appropriately to customer complaints, employee concerns, safety issues, and other situations requiring management attention.
  • Assist with stocking, merchandising, receiving, and other operational needs throughout the store.
  • Communicate store conditions, employee concerns, operational issues, and completed work to store management.
  • Learn additional areas of store operations as part of continued leadership development.
