About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)- course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. The Area Technology Centers under the Office of Career and Technical Education are organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Labor Cabinet. OUR CORE VALUES Equity Achievement Collaboration Integrity The Logan County Area Technology Center in Russellville, KY is looking for an Automotive Tech Instructor who is dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students. Requirements

  • Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught; OR Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught; OR Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.
  • Personal ASE certifications in the areas the program is certified in. An applicant can be hired without the needed personal certifications but must take and pass the needed ASE tests at the next available testing period. (If hired April through September, must take and pass the needed tests during the November testing period. If hired October through March, must take and pass the needed tests during the May testing period).

Responsibilities

  • Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
  • Performs other duties as required.
