About The Position

Windermere Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Part-Time Kennel Attendant to join their caring team. This role is crucial for ensuring boarding and hospitalized pets are safe, comfortable, clean, and well-cared for. Responsibilities include feeding, administering medications, providing exercise, and closely observing pets to ensure they receive compassionate and attentive care. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference for animals.

Dependability and availability to work every other weekend and holidays.
Strong attention to detail.
A self-motivated approach and ability to work independently.
Confidence and dexterity to administer medications as directed.
Ability to recognize and report signs of distress or changes in a pet’s condition.
Sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to safely lift and move heavier pets and objects.
Comfort with cleaning and sanitation, which are essential parts of this position.
A willingness to learn and continue developing your animal-care skills.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate daily care for boarding and hospitalized patients.
Walk, feed, and provide fresh water to pets according to their individual care plans.
Administer medications accurately as directed.
Monitor pets closely for signs of distress, illness, discomfort, or behavioral changes.
Communicate patient concerns promptly to the appropriate veterinary team member.
Maintain clean and comfortable kennels, cages, and boarding areas.
Vacuum, mop, clean cages, and complete necessary facility sanitation.
Safely handle and move pets using gentle, compassionate techniques.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment.
