About The Position

This position is responsible for the maintenance of the Animal Care facility. Duties include feeding, cleaning, caring for, and disposing of animals. Responsibilities also involve cleaning animal stalls, sweeping, cleaning windows and walls, emptying garbage receptacles, stocking supplies, and reporting necessary reorders to a supervisor. The role requires the ability to work well with the public and coworkers, and to answer a multi-line telephone professionally and courteously. This role performs other duties as required. Requirements

  • Must be passionate about working with animals
  • Must be able to work well with the public and co workers
  • Knowledge of the materials, practices, and methods used in cleaning operations
  • Some knowledge of safety procedures used in working with animals
  • Some knowledge of the methods and procedures used in caring for animals
  • Knowledge of computers and digital camera equipment
  • Ability to work with and around often vicious, sick or injured animals
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
  • Must be able to follow policies and standard operating procedures
  • Must be able to follow directions and able to learn and use new skills
  • Constantly sees and hears
  • Frequently walks, climbs, crawls, bends, twists body, drives, squats, stoops, lifts, carries, pulls, pushes and drags objects weighing up to 100 lbs., (including both live and dead animals)
  • Completion of eight (8) school grades supplemented with previous janitorial experience
  • Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record
  • Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered
  • Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license
  • Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum six (6) months experience working with animals preferred
  • Experience with digital cameras and photo editing software preferred
