About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join their team! This role involves attending to the basic needs of animals that are patients of the hospital and cleaning the hospital facility, equipment, and tools. The role may include assistance with basic patient care such as the safe restraint of patients during treatment.

Requirements

Passion for animals.
Willingness to improve skills and learn more about the veterinary health industry.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a veterinary health industry.
Skills in basic patient care.
Experience with safe restraint of patients during treatment.

Responsibilities

Observe patients for obvious signs of health concerns and report any findings to senior staff.
Clean and disinfect areas of the hospital as often as is necessary to maintain high standards of care.
Prepare patient meals, clean patient cages, and bedding, and maintain litter boxes.
Safely approach and restrain cooperative patients as needed during treatments.
Provide routine attention to patients, including walking dogs.
Effectively clean and maintain hospital equipment and tools.
Quantify patient voids and report findings to senior Veterinary Assistant or Technician.
Remove and wash soiled laundry and keep clean laundry stocked.
Patrol facility regularly to ensure cleanliness.
