Brookhaven Animal Hospital , a proud partner of Innovetive Petcare, is seeking a compassionate, reliable Part-Time Kennel Assistant to support our team. This is more than just an entry-level role—it’s an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop foundational clinical skills, and grow into advanced roles such as Veterinary Assistant, Client Service Representative, or future leadership positions within our organization. As a Kennel Assistant, you are essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our boarding and hospitalized pets. Your work directly impacts patient well-being and supports the medical team in delivering exceptional care. This is a hands-on, active role ideal for individuals who enjoy structure, responsibility, and working closely with animals.

Requirements

• Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Passion for animal care and a strong work ethic
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout your shift
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize signs of stress or illness in pets
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow

Nice To Haves

• Previous animal care or customer service experience is a plus (but not required)

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for pets including feeding, watering, and monitoring well-being
• Maintain clean, sanitized kennels and hospital areas to ensure a safe environment
• Walk, bathe, and provide enrichment to support pets’ physical and emotional health
• Observe and report changes in behavior, appetite, or condition to the veterinary team
• Assist with basic patient handling and support for exams and treatments
• Help manage laundry, dishes, and overall hospital cleanliness
• Interact with pet owners in a friendly, professional manner when needed
