Kennel Assistant
About The Position
Tails of Terra Linda Pet Resort is seeking caring, reliable Kennel Assistants for its family-owned boarding and daycare facility in San Rafael, California. The role provides hands-on care for dogs and cats in a supportive team environment. Full-time and part-time positions are available. Kennel Assistants provide daily care, feeding, and fresh water; walk, exercise, and play with dogs; clean and sanitize kennels and shared areas; monitor pets’ health and behavior; assist with baths and basic grooming as needed; and give pets attention throughout the day. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Requirements
- Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes and cats.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to be on your feet for most of the shift.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and positive attitude.
- Weekend and holiday availability required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous animal care experience, such as in a kennel, shelter, veterinary setting, or pet sitting.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care, feeding, and fresh water for pets.
- Walk, exercise, and play with dogs in group and individual settings.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play yards, and common areas.
- Monitor pet health and behavior and promptly report concerns.
- Assist with baths and basic grooming as needed.
