About The Position
Join Our Team at Newburgh Veterinary Hospital as a Kennel Assistant! Do you have a passion for animals and love providing top-notch care? We’re looking for a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our amazing team. In this role, you’ll be hands-on in the daily care of our patients and boarders—ensuring they are happy, healthy, and well cared for.
Requirements
- Prior animal care experience (kennel, shelter, vet clinic, or similar).
- Physical ability to lift/move large pets and equipment.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
- Compassionate and attentive to pets’ needs, with the ability to recognize signs of stress or illness.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude—smiles and laughter encouraged!
- Willingness to learn and grow in the veterinary field.
- Must pass reference checks, background check, and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for patients and boarders, including feeding, watering, walking, bathing, and cleaning.
- Safely handle and restrain pets when needed.
- Monitor pet behavior and overall well-being, reporting any concerns to medical staff.
- Support the veterinary team with patient care and treatment needs.
- Create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every pet in our care.
