About The Position
Our privately owned small animal veterinary hospital in Coram, NY is hiring a Kennel Assistant / Animal Care Attendant to support our boarding and hospital care teams. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with animals and want exposure to a veterinary hospital environment.
Requirements
- Dependable with strong attendance
- Enjoy hands-on animal care work
- Comfortable with cleaning and physical tasks
- Work well in a team environment
- Show compassion and patience with animals
- No veterinary experience required — we will train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Care for boarding and hospitalized pets
- Feed, walk, and monitor animals
- Clean kennels, cages, and hospital areas
- Maintain hospital cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Observe pets and report concerns to medical staff
- Assist with laundry, stocking, and daily hospital upkeep
- Provide comfort and enrichment to animals in our care
