About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a KDB Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The successful candidate will join the Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities (FICC) technology team, which has a proven track record of delivering critical low-latency front-office data analytics solutions. The role involves working in the FICC KDB technology team to build and maintain high availability, globally deployed systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's (4 year) or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience
At least 4+ years of hands-on KDB development experience
Strong KDB/q skills with a thorough understanding of q internals such as tp, rdb, hdb, and tick data storage
Solid knowledge of the UNIX / Linux environment
Strong experience in one or more scripting languages (Perl, Python, Unix Shell Scripting)
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment

Nice To Haves

Experience in Python
Experience in FICC business
Knowledge of Java

Responsibilities

Build and maintain high availability, globally deployed systems
Design and develop ETL processes for the project's data warehouse
Learn and apply critical thinking to a variety of situations
