About The Position

This Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) position offers the opportunity for highly motivated, innovative, and inspired engineers to work in a challenging assignment in the advance phase of automotive product development using parametric and associative modeling methodology utilizing NX11. The KBE Advance Body / closures Development Engineer will be responsible for the rapid development of component template models that incorporate engineering requirements, best practices while honoring styling intent. Will be working daily with styling/studio engineering, other component engineers, requirement experts, Sciences and Manufacturing while using the latest in parametric design engineering tools. Successful applicants should have demonstrated the ability to problem solve in a kinetic environment while achieving commitment dates for geometric releases. Selected applicants should have a command of both engineering and design principles involved in sheet metal body and closures development. Capable leading and brokering agreements for conflicting requirements with different departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proficient with NX11 parametric modelling, modelling with feature groups and wave linking
  • Minimum of 5 years of CAD Experience
  • Minimum of 5 Years Automotive Body Engineering Experience
  • Teamcenter Experience
  • Strong Communication Skills

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 8 Years Automotive Body Engineering Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of CAD Experience
  • Experience with software NX development
  • Knowledge of vehicle and occupant packaging methods and requirements
  • Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) experience highly desirable
  • Vehicle assembly process knowledge and system and component tooling and process experience
  • Self-starter with strong leadership and demonstrated problem-solving ability
