About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Kafka Automation Engineer for a hybrid role with a Global Financial Institution. This position focuses on developing new infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka in both internal and external cloud environments. The role requires capturing business requirements, designing solutions, and developing testing automation while adhering to IT security standards.

Requirements

10 years of hands-on experience in software development.
Hands-on development experience with Terraform and Python/Ansible is a must.
Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka.
Strong experience with Ansible Playbook and Ansible Tower.
Experience managing large-scale deployments for enterprise in public and private cloud environments.
Basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX Shell Scripting.
Basic knowledge of Ping Access and Certificate Management.

Nice To Haves

Experience with monitoring software like Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Knowledge of other messaging software (MQ/IIB, Tibco, etc).
Experience with Java/J2EE.

Responsibilities

Understand and update existing automation programs and develop new infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka.
Capture business requirements from lines of business and design solutions in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
Work closely with Application Development/Support teams to understand the usage of messaging protocols within application software.
Document business requirements and develop plans to address them.
Develop testing automation and troubleshoot problems during testing.
Analyze and apply IT security standards and policies for multiple projects of high complexity.
Identify potential threats and risks, making recommendations for prevention.
