About The Position

An assembler performs repetitive line assembly operations to mass-produce seat products for the European heavy duty and John Deere truck industry. This role involves working as a team member in a group setting, such as a work cell, and requires cross-training. The assembler is expected to identify and report problems affecting quality, defective material, incomplete operations, or unusual conditions to proper supervision. The position also includes training new employees in the assembly process and adhering to safety rules, regulations, and the employee handbook. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of AS400 Manufacturing software.

Responsibilities

  • Read a print and use the print in the production of a finished part.
  • Utilize a process sheet to aid in the production process of seating systems.
  • Perform assembly of seat bases, arms, back, head rests and other seat components.
  • Use various hand tools and simple power equipment such as hammers, pliers, hand and power screw drivers, wrenches, and various other simple tools, gauges and holding devices.
  • Work as a team member in a group setting, such as a work cell (cross training).
  • Identify problems that affect quality and ability to assemble.
  • Detect and report defective material, incomplete operations or unusual conditions to proper supervision.
  • Train new employees in the assembly process.
  • Follow and adhere to safety rules and regulations, employee handbook to be included (housekeeping, rules, etc.).
