About The Position

An assembler performs repetitive line assembly operations to mass-produce seat products for the European heavy duty and John Deere truck industry by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Knowledge of AS400 Manufacturing software.

Responsibilities

• Ability to read a print and to use the print in the production of a finished part.
• Ability to utilize a process sheet to aid in the production process of seating systems.
• Must be able to perform assembly of seat bases, arms, back, head rests and other seat components.
• Ability to use various hand tools and simple power equipment such as hammers, pliers, hand and power screw drivers, wrenches, and various other simple tools, gauges and holding devices.
• Work as a team member in a group setting, such as a work cell (cross training).
• Identify problems that affect quality and ability to assemble and detect and report defective material, incomplete operations or unusual conditions to proper supervision.
• Ability to train new employees in the assembly process.
• Follow and adhere to safety rules and regulations, employee handbook to be included (housekeeping, rules, etc.).
