About The Position
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated K-8 Art Teacher to join our vibrant educational community in Akron, Ohio. Requirements
- Valid Ohio teaching license with proper licensure for K-8 art education
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Proven experience teaching art to elementary and middle school students
- Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and curriculum development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Creative, patient, and adaptable teaching style
- FBI/BCI Background Check
- Ohio Education License.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate art curricula that align with state standards and school goals
- Foster students' creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking through various artistic mediums and techniques
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities related to art
- Manage classroom materials and resources efficiently, ensuring a well-organized learning space
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievements
