About The Position

This position is for the current 2025–26 School Year and supports K–8 Electives with licensure in Coding/ Computer Science and a focus in Fine Arts, STEM, and Career Technical Education (CTE). The teacher will work remotely from within the state of Arkansas. The  K–8 Fine Arts and Computer Science Elective Teacher will virtually design and deliver engaging instructional programs that introduce students to foundational and exploratory skills across K–8 elective areas, which may include Art, Music, and/or Physical Education. While instruction may include Art, Music, or PE, the desired focus is the integration and emphasis in Coding fundamentals, Computer Science principles, and Career exploration and technical skill development This role blends traditional elective offerings with forward-thinking, technology-driven learning experiences to support student growth in both creative and technical skill areas. Through the use of phone, internet, virtual platforms, and digital curriculum tools, the teacher will collaborate regularly with students and learning coaches to ensure successful course completion.

Requirements

  • Valid Arkansas teaching certification appropriate to grade level and subject area: 528 Computer Science Endorsement
  • Must reside in Arkansas (or within 300 miles of the Bentonville, AR office)
  • Strong technology skills (Microsoft OS, MS Office, Google Workspace, virtual platforms)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced virtual environment
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for state testing or school events
  • Ability to work remotely and maintain a professional home office
  • Flexibility to support occasional evening hours as needed
  • Ability to use a personal electronic device and email for two-step authentication

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous instruction in STEM, Computer Science, coding, Fine Art, and CTE electives for grades K–8
  • Develop and implement project-based learning experiences aligned to Arkansas standards
  • Complete grading, progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner
  • Develop and update Personal Learning Plans in partnership with families
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Provide individualized feedback and monitor student progress
  • Integrate real-world career connections and technology applications into lessons
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and communication logs
  • Collaborate with advisory teachers, counselors, and instructional staff to ensure student success
  • Support virtual community-building activities and optional STEM-related field trips
  • Participate in state testing administration and school outreach efforts
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning related to STEM, Computer Science, and CTE
  • Perform other duties as assigned
