About The Position

Tutor Doctor of North Jersey is seeking dependable, caring tutors to provide personalized, one-to-one academic support to elementary students in grades K-6. Tutors work with students in Ramsey, Mahwah, Wyckoff, and nearby communities. This is a part-time, supplemental opportunity for tutors and educators who value meaningful work and consistent student relationships. Subjects may include reading, writing, phonics, elementary math, study skills, and general school support. The role involves in-home tutoring and calls for daytime availability, ideally between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Ideally, tutors can commit through the school year.

Requirements

• Patience, warmth, and the ability to keep young learners engaged.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions.
• Ability to commit ideally through the school year.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; education or a related field is a plus.
• Prior tutoring, teaching, or academic support experience with elementary-age students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, in-home tutoring tailored to each student’s needs.
• Build foundational skills in reading, writing, and math.
• Support homework completion, skill development, and confidence.
• Communicate student progress and goals with parents.
• Collaborate with the Tutor Doctor team regarding student needs and scheduling.
• Submit clear and timely session reports after each tutoring session.
