About The Position

This position is for an Elementary (K-2) Instructional Coach with a .8 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) commitment, serving split locations. The role is effective for the 2026-27 school year. The coach will provide leadership and support for the school's math and literacy programs, including assessments, data analysis, and professional development for teachers. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
Minimum of 3 years experience in a K-5 school or equivalent environment
Current knowledge of research and effective practices in the area of math development and instruction and literacy development and literacy instruction
Excellent interpersonal skills
Flexible, responsible work style
High level of planning and organizational skills
Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community
Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others

Masters Degree in Education with concentration in Literacy/Reading

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for the school's math and literacy programs
Support math and literacy assessments and data analysis
Provide professional development by training, coaching, and supporting teachers with math and literacy programs and instructional practices
Coordinate math and literacy support
Serve as a resource for teachers, administrators, and families
Establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District
