About The Position

The K-12 Counselor position is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to students within the K-12 educational system. This includes academic, career, and social-emotional counseling to support student development and success. Counselors work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to create a supportive learning environment.

Requirements

Valid Nevada School Counselor license.
Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
Completion of a supervised internship or practicum in school counseling.
Knowledge of child development, counseling theories, and best practices in school counseling.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Experience with academic and career planning tools.
Ability to handle crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
Experience with specific student populations (e.g., special education, gifted students).
Experience in data analysis and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, and social-emotional issues.
Develop and implement guidance programs and activities.
Assist students in course selection and academic planning.
Provide crisis intervention and support services.
