About The Position

Williamstown Independent Schools is seeking a JV Volleyball Coach/Varsity Assistant to promote sports within the school and community. This role involves planning and supervising the assigned athletic program, teaching fundamental skills, team strategy, and sportsmanship to student athletes. The coach will also be responsible for checking participant eligibility, providing guidance and support to students, and recommending equipment purchases. This position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D., a minimum of 64 college credit hours, one year of coaching experience in a school athletic program, and successful completion of all KHSAA training requirements. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university
One year of experience coaching in a school athletic program
Successful completion of all training requirements set forth by KHSAA
Must be at least 21 years old

Responsibilities

Promote sports in the schools and community.
Plan the assigned athletic program.
Organize and supervise practices.
Teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
Teach good sportsmanship and self-control.
Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
Conduct learning experiences, with small groups of student athletes.
Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
Perform related duties as assigned.
