About The Position

This person will provide support for the Ashland volleyball program. The candidate will be the head coach for the JV volleyball team and an assistant coach to the varsity team. The role involves assisting a competitive varsity volleyball program, running JV practices and training sessions, and coordinating with athletic administration and the head varsity coach. The coach will also communicate with parents, assist with combined practices, help with equipment management and uniform distribution, and set up/take down the gym for home matches. Participation in athletic department coaches meetings is expected. A key aspect of the role is creating a positive environment for athletes to build strong relationships and demonstrating good sportsmanship and appropriate conduct.

Requirements

• Experience in volleyball coaching
• Ability to coordinate with athletic administration and head varsity coach
• Strong communication skills for interacting with parents
• Knowledge of equipment management and uniform distribution
• Ability to set up and take down gym equipment
• Willingness to participate in coaches meetings
• Ability to foster a positive team environment
• Demonstrated good sportsmanship and appropriate conduct

Responsibilities

• Assisting competitive varsity volleyball program
• Running JV practices/ training sessions

• Assist with practices, etc. when combined with varsity or freshmen
• Help as needed with equipment management
• Help as needed with uniform distribution, organization, and retrieval
• Assist in setting up/taking down the gym for home matches
• Participate in athletic department coaches meetings
• Creating a positive environment where athletes can build strong relationships with other players and coaches
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards the student-athletes, opposing team, officials, spectators, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
