About The Position
Teaching Assistant needed in the Education Department of a juvenile correctional facility, supervising classroom students in the absence of the classroom teacher and reporting directly to the School Principal.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Must pass all drug tests
- Must complete all required training and certifications

- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Substitute teaching permit
Responsibilities
- Take attendance, monitor behavior, track assignments, and maintain daily records
- Guide students in completing assignments left by the classroom teacher and support classroom instruction
- Manage the classroom effectively and supervise daily student work, evaluating individual knowledge achievement
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, and multidisciplinary treatment team reporting
- Follow critical incident policies to prevent injury, escape, or property damage
- Maintain confidentiality and operate job-related equipment
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the student learning environment
- Develop and review clear, accurate reports in compliance with departmental policies
- Build positive working relationships with students, staff, contractual personnel, interns, volunteers, and community agencies
- Attend and complete all required training and certifications
- Perform related duties as assigned
