About The Position

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Juvenile Detention Life Skills Worker at the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center (D.C.J.D.C.) in Nashville, Tennessee. The Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for at-risk youth. As part of our team, you’ll help provide care and supervision for young individuals awaiting trial, offering a mix of education, counseling, medical and recreation services. You’ll monitor activities, document behavior, and assist in various programs to support the growth and development of youth aged 12-18. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Be at least 21 years of age
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry

Responsibilities

Provide in person safety and security around-the-clock.
Provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual mentoring and skill development.
Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs.
Monitor and document behaviors and activities.
Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.
Monitor activities, document behavior, and assist in various programs to support the growth and development of youth aged 12-18.
