Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving planning, organizing and supervising investigations, inspections and assessments of state and privately operated children’s programs, institutions and facilities and child related operations of all state agencies or the planning, development and implementation of statewide children’s services plans recommended by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth. This includes multi-faceted assessments of children’s institutions and facilities, investigations of complex systemic complaints against the children and youth services system, leadership and advocacy for children and family services, and working with local and regional children’s planning boards in developing plans to provide for children’s and family services. This is the specialist level of this job family where employees are assigned advanced level responsibilities. In this role they will be responsible for performing highly independent work and will be given a great deal of latitude in making decisions regarding findings and community challenges. They may also be assigned responsibilities for serving as a team leader or other comparable duties on a limited basis.
