About The Position

Who We Are Looking For: Are you the Competency Coordinator we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students! Swansea Wood School is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Swansea Wood provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff. Compensation The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future. Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, there are times where overtime may be mandated. JRI Provides The Training So That:  YOU will be able to develop your skills in overseeing, planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and competency life skill-based activities for our adolescent students! If you love to get kids excited about participating in various activities such as arts and crafts, physical activities, music etc. Then this position is for you! YOU will help students discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and much more. Your day-to-day work will support students in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps. YOU will be able to develop community connections such as volunteering, art classes, and athletics YOU will be able to create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and by role modeling effective coping strategies. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have strong communication skills with clients' teams both internally and externally.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and experience with managing monthly/weekly scheduling of activities.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Mental Health setting experience strongly preferred.
  • Activity planning and community outreach experience preferred.
