The Substance Use, Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Services Section is responsible for overall policy and planning for addiction treatment and recovery systems for adults, families and communities, in collaboration with other DMHDDSUS sections. Located within the SUPTRS Section, the Justice Services Team manages the planning, implementation, monitoring, technical assistance and evaluation of initiatives related to the intersection of MH/DD/SUS and the criminal legal system. The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical and administrative assistance to division staff, state and local agencies, community-based organizations, and others on issues related to the complex intersection of MD/DD/SUD services and the justice system. The person in this position will develop, coordinate, and manage projects in assigned areas. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: engage in the review and analysis of policies & procedures; explore solutions to address problem areas; identify opportunities for program standardization to ensure statewide utilization of evidence-based best practices for care management and support for individuals with mental health, substance use, and/or co-occurring disorders; develop standards and/or procedures; and ensuring that programs & projects supported by the division are in alignment with the DMH/DD/SUS Strategic Plan. Work requires the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, and will involve developing relationships and coordinating activities with other agencies, divisions, and private organizations to enhance current operations and develop new programs. This position is mostly remote with occasional travel to various locations across the state. Familiarity with both MH/DD/SU services and the justice system are highly preferred.
