About The Position

As a SNAP Youth Justice Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of youth aged 12-19 who are currently on probation and battling challenges in emotional regulation, problem-solving skills, and self-control. Utilizing the evidence-based SNAP Program—STOP NOW AND PLAN—you'll guide participants through one hour of engaging sessions each week for 13 weeks, or twice a week for six weeks, equipping them with essential skills to navigate difficult situations in a constructive manner. You'll collaborate closely with the youth and their probation officers, ensuring tailored support for improved decision-making. This role is not just about delivering the program; you’ll maintain comprehensive documentation, oversee data entry for pre and post assessments, and conduct follow-up calls to confirm that the right resources are being utilized. Your proactive communication and teamwork will be vital in fostering better outcomes for these youth, setting them on a path to success and responsible choices.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Must demonstrate awareness and acceptance of cultural differences of clients, staff and community contacts.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid Florida’s driver’s license, clear driving record and current automobile insurance.
  • Background compliance with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
  • Must possess a cellular phone to be used for agency business.
  • Non-Traditional business hours up to 8pm in Pinellas and Manatee County. Must also be willing to work weekends if needed.
  • Must display professionalism in the office’s day to day operations which includes working as a team player, volunteering when needed and promoting a cohesive working environment. Also, must display professionalism in ongoing working relationships with outside agencies and organizations.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working with youth and their families.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred with emphasis in areas of social work, psychology, or related field.
