DuroMax Junior Video Editor & Social Content Creator

Imperial Industrial Supply•Tomball, TX

About The Position

DuroMax Power Equipment is seeking a creative, hands-on Junior Video Editor & Social Content Creator. This role involves video editing, turning ideas into social content from concept to finished asset, developing hooks and concepts, building scripts and shot lists, capturing product and lifestyle footage, and editing platform-native content for various social media channels. The ideal candidate will work from direction provided by the marketing and creative team, but is also expected to identify opportunities, bring ideas forward, film them, create variations, and contribute to continuous improvement of market content.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in video editing, content creation, social media content, or a closely related role.
  • A portfolio or social feed that demonstrates strong short-form editing and an understanding of social content.
  • Experience filming content using an iPhone and/or camera setup.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software.
  • Working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and platform-specific creative requirements.
  • Ability to create strong hooks, captions, pacing, basic motion graphics, and multiple versions of an idea.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, files, feedback rounds, and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating content for a brand, ecommerce business, creator account, or personal social channel.
  • Basic knowledge of lighting, audio capture, composition, and simple production setups; comfort directing people or appearing on camera occasionally is a plus.
  • Familiarity with After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or basic graphic design for social content.
  • Experience using AI tools for ideation, scripting, transcription, editing, or creative variations.

Responsibilities

  • Help brainstorm social-first concepts around products, launches, promotions, customer questions, demos, trends, education, and brand moments.
  • Turn ideas into simple hooks, scripts, talking points, shot lists, or storyboards that can be executed quickly.
  • Bring forward recurring content-series ideas and multiple creative angles instead of relying on one concept.
  • Think about how a concept should change by platform rather than simply reposting the exact same edit everywhere.
  • Capture social content on-site, including product demos, lifestyle footage, behind-the-scenes moments, employee or expert content, customer-focused education, and UGC-style creative.
  • Set up and operate simple shoots using an iPhone and/or camera, tripod or gimbal, basic lighting, microphones, and audio equipment.
  • Direct simple scenes and talent when needed so footage feels natural, clear, and social-native.
  • Capture enough b-roll, alternate hooks, angles, and takes to create multiple finished variations from the same shoot.
  • Identify useful content opportunities beyond the original brief and capture them while the people, product, or setting are available.
  • Edit short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook/Reels, paid social, and other digital placements.
  • Build strong openings, clean pacing, captions, music and sound, basic motion graphics, product callouts, and clear calls to action.
  • Create platform-appropriate versions using the correct aspect ratios, safe zones, durations, caption styles, and native visual language.
  • Repurpose existing long-form footage, product demos, photography, and raw content into new short-form social assets.
  • Create alternate hooks, intros, endings, and edits so the team can test multiple creative approaches.
  • Take assigned content from idea or brief through a publish-ready final asset with minimal hand-holding.
  • Deliver assigned content quickly and accurately while maintaining DuroMax brand standards.
  • Organize footage, project files, selects, exports, and reusable content so assets can be found and repurposed later.
  • Manage multiple projects, revisions, and deadlines across product launches, evergreen content, campaigns, and day-to-day social needs.
  • Work closely with marketing, ecommerce, product, and creative team members to make sure content is accurate and ready to use.
  • Stay current with social trends, creator formats, editing styles, sounds, memes, hooks, and platform behavior.
  • Bring trends to the team with a clear point of view on how they could fit DuroMax rather than copying trends that do not fit the brand.
  • Review basic performance signals such as watch time, retention, engagement, shares, comments, and creative winners with the team.
  • Use feedback and performance learnings to make the next round of content stronger.
  • Make revisions quickly and be comfortable testing, learning, and moving on.

Benefits

  • Hands-on role where you will actually shoot, edit, concept, and execute content.
  • Access to real products, launches, demos, locations, team members, and stories to turn into creative.
  • Opportunity to build a portfolio with content that has real business impact.
  • Fast-moving environment with room to test new formats and creative ideas.
  • Clear opportunity for expanded ownership based on performance, creativity, and initiative.
