About The Position

ST Shipping is seeking a motivated Junior Trade Analyst to join its New York team. Reporting to the Head of Chartering in London and the Head of Operations in New York, the role provides analytical and commercial support across trading, chartering, and shipping activities. It offers an early-career opportunity to gain exposure to global commodities and freight markets while working closely with commercial and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Analytics, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in analytics, logistics, shipping, commodities, operations, or a related field.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective and timely communication with trading desks.
• Assist the chartering team with netback calculations, deal entry, and trade clearances.
• Analyze commodity, freight, and market price data.
• Monitor market fundamentals and provide insights to support commercial decision-making.
• Perform fleet and vessel performance analytics.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses using Excel and other reporting tools.
• Support commercial and operational teams with data management and reporting needs.
