About The Position

Visionist is seeking Junior Test Engineers to join their team at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. The role involves advancing the future of maritime domain awareness by enhancing global ship tracking systems. This position will leverage state-of-the-art analytics, multi-INT fusion, and cutting-edge technologies to detect and disrupt illicit activities at sea. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • 3 years of experience in test engineering
  • Experience in software testing and automation, with proficiency in tools such as UFT, Java, JavaScript (OpenLayers, ExtJS, jQuery), Maven, Jenkins/Hudson, Hibernate, Spring, Apache, HTML, CSS, and XPath
  • Strong knowledge of test automation, regression testing, and agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with bug tracking/configuration tools (JIRA, Confluence, SVN, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze issues, capture detailed logs, and communicate findings clearly
  • U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible).
  • Applicants selected will be required to obtain / maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test procedures for service layer and web-tier applications
  • Build and maintain automated test scripts to support functional regression testing
  • Document and refine repeatable, detailed bug reports with supporting logs and data
  • Conduct load and performance testing while collaborating with engineers to tune system configurations
  • Perform security testing to ensure APIs and interfaces comply with requirements
  • Manage test activities within an agile sprint lifecycle, including feature validation, regression testing, and reporting
  • Create and maintain dashboards, test documentation, and release verification deliverables
